About this conversion
A .pst file is not a pile of messages but a small Microsoft database: two B-trees, a heap on every node and the mail spread across them, which is why so few tools outside Outlook will open one. This page reads that structure directly in the browser, so a mailbox full of work correspondence never has to be handed to a server.

You are not locked into CSV
The file is parsed once and stays open, so the format is picked at the end rather than the beginning: the same .pst can leave here as XLSX, ZIP, EML, MBOX, PDF, HTML, TXT or JSON. Before that you can search it by subject or address, filter by year, sender and attachment type, mark the duplicates and look through the archive overview.
Questions
- Do I need Outlook?
- No. The file is read here, in the page, on any operating system.
- What about a password-protected pst?
- It opens. The password in a .pst guards the Outlook interface, not the contents of the file.
- How large a mailbox can I open?
- Size is not the limit: the file is read in pieces straight from disk, so a mailbox of several gigabytes opens, and an attachment is only read when it is actually needed.
